COMMUNITY RENEWAL FUND

Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar has received an allocation of up to £500,000 of investment from the newly created UK Community Renewal Fund (CRF).
These funds are to support Gibraltar in the transition away from EU Structural Funds.


PRIORITIES

1. Assistance for local business start-ups and expansions.
2. Supporting people into employment and investing in skills.
3. Public sector projects of a community nature.


OUTPUTS

1. Creation of sustainable employment.
2. Improvements to the environment.
3. Obtaining a qualification/skill.
4. Regeneration of public outdoor areas.


FUNDING PACKAGE

Private Sector Projects:
Maximum project size: £490,000
Maximum grant eligible: 30% i.e. £147,000 (De Minimis)
Minimum project size: £33,333
Minimum grant eligible: 30% i.e. £10,000
Match funding: 70% has to be in place prior to project approval.

REQUIREMENTS

Private Sector Projects:
1. Demonstrate best value for money.
2. Two quotes for all intended expenditure from local suppliers.
3. Match funding in place.
4. Creation of sustainable employment.
5. Environmental enhancements.
6. Qualifications/skills to be obtained.
7. 5 year lease on premises.

NO retrospective funding.


ANTI-FRAUD

Procedures are in place for the prevention and detection of fraud. The Secretariat is accountable for the day-to-day management of fraud risks and has systems of internal controls for the detection of the same.
The Secretariat is also responsible for ensuring due diligence and implementing precautionary actions in case of suspicion of fraud and taking corrective measures, including any administrative penalties, as relevant.


HORIZONTAL THEMES - SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

CRF actions focus on the opportunities which contribute to the creation of sustainable growth and jobs in the economy whilst keeping in view environmental enhancements.
Applicants will have to substantiate job creation and also demonstrate how their projects promote environmental sustainability.
